Though not uncommon in Puget Sound, when I lived in Oklahoma there were infrequent visitors and were locally known as "water turkeys". They were the scourge of bass fisherman since they were supposed to be able to clean out a small lake in just a few days.

Snoqualmie Falls
This is how the falls typically looks. It's higher than Niagra Falls and not as broad but very impressive in spate.

Unrolling (Black & White)
An Asiatic Lily just opening out of the bud. The stamens unrolling around the pistil looked like elongaged hands to me. Not bad in color either.
